Ben Winneg is an associate in Covington’s Corporate Practice Group, where his practice focuses on transactional and advisory matters at the intersection of entertainment, media, and technology. He counsels clients on intellectual property–driven commercial transactions, including music and media content deals, technology licensing, and artificial intelligence partnerships.
Ben’s work frequently centers on copyright, data rights, and right of publicity (name, image, and likeness) issues, helping clients structure agreements that protect key IP assets and brand equity while supporting innovative products, collaborations, and commercial opportunities.
Prior to practicing law, Ben spent nine years in the entertainment and advertising industries. As Associate Director of Talent and Influencer Marketing at Time Inc., he represented leading brands and media properties in negotiating endorsement partnerships with prominent musicians, athletes, actors, and digital influencers, and structured deals to license popular songs for broadcast and digital advertising. He also gained experience representing celebrities and creators in commercial endeavors during this time.
