    Paul Strauch is an associate in the international arbitration and antitrust practice groups.

    In his international practice, Paul represents clients in public international law and investor-state disputes. His experience includes sovereign representation in international courts.

    In his antitrust practice, Paul works on complex, high-stakes antitrust litigations across multiple jurisdictions. He has advised clients in the pharmaceutical, medical device, and technology industries.

    Paul also maintains an active pro bono practice focused on international criminal law and human rights issues.

    International Arbitration

    • Counsel to Ukraine in case against the Russian Federation before the International Court of Justice under the U.N. Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.
    • Counsel to Ukraine in case against the Russian Federation before the International Court of Justice alleging violations of treaties on the financing of terrorism and racial discrimination.
    • Representation of an investor in a bilateral investment treaty dispute arising out of Russia’s expropriation of real estate assets in Crimea.
    • Representation of Ukraine in an arbitration under the U.N. Convention on the Law of the Sea.

    Antitrust

    • Representation of Intuitive Surgical in antitrust cases alleging monopolization, exclusive dealing, and tying.
    • Defense of a pharmaceutical company against antitrust counterclaims arising from a patent dispute.
