Patricia Snell is an associate in Covington’s dispute resolution group. Ms. Snell's practice covers a broad range of contentious matters, including litigation, international commercial arbitration, and investor-state disputes, with a particular focus on the energy and infrastructure sector. She has advised and acted for clients in complex international disputes under many of the major institutional rules including LCIA, DIFC-LCIA, DIAC, ICSID, and UNCITRAL across a variety of seats.

  • Represented a global energy company in a multi-billion dollar claim in a Perth-seated UNCITRAL arbitration concerning an offshore LNG project.
  • Represented an African state entity in an ICSID investor-state dispute concerning the expropriation of licences for a geothermal project.
  • Represented a Cayman entity in a DIFC-LCIA commercial arbitration in relation to investments in the UAE food and retail sector.
  • Represented a Middle Eastern transportation and logistics entity in a DIFC-LCIA commercial arbitration and in a related anti-suit injunction in the DIFC Courts.
  • Represented a UAE-based real estate developer in a DIAC commercial dispute concerning breach of a development agreement.
  • Represented a European energy corporate following the failure of a major infrastructure project in Asia, advising on liability and contractual remedies.

  • Represented a London-based NGO in a transnational employment dispute.
  • Represented human rights abuse victims on behalf of a London-based NGO in preparing applications to the African Commission.
