Mr. Rahman works across industries with particular focus on sports transactions.

  • Advised a client in its role as lender and collateral agent to a Major League Soccer team for the building of a premier, state-of-the-art soccer-only stadium.
  • Represented a lender in extending a revolving loan agreement with a National Football League franchise.
  • Represented an international solar developer in the sale of its interest in a 220-megawatt photovoltaic solar power plant located in New Mexico.
  • Advised a National Football League franchise on implementing corporate governance best practices.
  • Assisted the U.S. Department of Transportation, as lender under the TIFIA program, in connection with the $152.5 million financing for the I-15 Managed Lanes project in Riverside County, California.
  • Provided advice to an ownership group with its attempted acquisition of a National Football League franchise.
  • Advised an international foundation in its acquisition of an energy transmission and distribution system in Africa.
  • Performed project and asset diligence for a solar developer during its Chapter 11 reorganization in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

Pro Bono

  • Seconded to the Housing division at the Legal Aid Society of D.C. and represented dozens of indigent residents in eviction and related proceedings in D.C. Superior Court.
  • Counseled non-profit organizations regarding incorporation, governance, and obtaining 501(c)(3) status from the Internal Revenue Service.
  • Assisted an international non-profit organization in obtaining its 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, drafted its organizational governance documents and advised on implementing best practices.
  • Advised an international non-profit organization supporting revitalization efforts in earthquake-affected rural Nepal villages and drafted project documents and memoranda of understanding to implement a new hydro-electric power grid.
  • Drafted a path-breaking carbon finance, carbon tax, and cap-and-trade handbook for use by a climate non-profit organization in its international and domestic outreach.
  • Represented a number of domestic violence victims in obtaining a temporary restraining orders from their attackers.
