Sara Lacy is an associate in the firm’s Washington, DC office where she practices in the Litigation and White Collar Defense and Investigations Practice Groups. She represents clients involved in complex, high-stakes civil litigation and government investigations. Ms. Lacy's practice also focuses on advising clients that are conducting sensitive internal workplace culture assessments, investigations, and audits. She also maintains an active pro bono practice.

Ms. Lacy has previously advised clients regarding compliance with U.S. economic sanctions and export control regulations and through seeking national security approval before the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS). She has counseled clients in a variety of industries, including the defense, consulting, entertainment, energy, private equity, and technology sectors.

  • Advised multinational company regarding compliance with U.S. trade controls.
  • Represented clients through the notice process before the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, and regarding strategies for complying with mitigation agreements following approval.

  • Counseled clients through transactions with respect to national security matters, safeguarding sensitive and classified information, and handling issues related to foreign ownership, control, or influence (FOCI).

  • Counsels non-profit organization regarding “extreme vetting” policies and administrative law issues arising from related regulations.
