Scott J. Garfing

Scott Garfing is an associate in the firm's Washington, DC office, representing clients in commercial litigation and regulatory matters, with a particular focus on the gaming and sports industries.

Scott advises gaming clients on a wide variety of issues, including the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, sports betting laws and regulations, the Administrative Procedure Act, and state compliance issues.

Scott also has substantive experience in all stages of litigation, including pre-litigation strategy, complex discovery management, motions practice, and oral advocacy.

Scott maintains an active pro bono practice, with an emphasis on voting rights, housing, and civil rights litigation. He also spent six months as a full-time eviction defense attorney at a local non-profit organization through Covington’s pro bono rotation program.
