David J. Cho, Ph.D.

David Cho is a litigator who advises clients in complex intellectual property disputes. He represents and counsels high-tech companies in patent infringement litigation, patent strategy, and breach of contract matters.

David helps clients develop strategies using his strong background in science and technology. Prior to joining the firm, David received his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of California, Berkeley, where he conducted research in the fields of optics and nanomaterials for telecommunication and display applications. He also worked as a patent agent and prosecuted applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). David has gained a deep knowledge in a wide range of technologies, including wearable devices, computer memories, LCD and OLED displays, solar panels, semiconductor fabrication, and lithography. Based on his experience as a scientist and judicial law clerk, David counsels clients in all stages of litigation before federal district courts, the USPTO, and the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC).

As a registered patent attorney, David maintains an active practice before the USPTO. He has presented oral argument before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and has obtained favorable decisions. In district court and ITC cases, David has significant experience in all stages of litigation, including pre-suit diligence, case management, motion practice, and trial. He also has a practice in international arbitration and pro bono matters.
