Sebastian Böbel is an associate in the Frankfurt office and a member of the litigation and investigations team.

He has specialized experience in domestic and international dispute resolution including litigation, regulatory disputes, international arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution, as well as giving advice on white collar crime and the conduct of internal investigations.

Mr. Böbel represents companies in a range of sectors, including financial services, technology, healthcare, and manufacturing.

  • Advising and representing a listed, internationally active furniture group in class action proceedings against former and current shareholders for alleged wrong/misleading capital markets Information.
  • Advising and representing an investment service provider in a criminal Investigation against its former CEO for alleged insider trading.
  • Advising a large medical device company in matters of German anti-corruption/anti-bribery law.
  • Advising and representing a leading financial institution in a large volume litigation against a Brazilian provider of sureties.
  • Advising and representing a large foreign bank against hundreds of investors for alleged misselling.

Previous Experience

  • During his legal traineeship (Referendariat), Mr. Böbel worked i.a. at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy in 2016.
  • From 2013-2014, he worked as research assistant including lectureship at Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg.
  • Mr. Böbel was an assistant to a Member of Parliament of the German federal state Hesse from 2006-2007.
