WASHINGTON—The National Law Journal recognized Covington as a 2026 Community Impact Leader at its D.C. Legal Awards. The recognition honors legal leadership in Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG), with a focus on the impact of legal initiatives on communities and stakeholders.
In its profile of the firm, The National Law Journal highlighted Covington’s work securing a major victory for the Washington Area Bicyclist Association that helped preserve protected bike lanes connecting downtown Washington, the National Mall, and Virginia, as well as the firm’s representation of the Jewish Claims Conference in negotiations that secured more than $1 billion for homecare and social services for Holocaust survivors worldwide.
As Dan Feldman, Co-Chair of Covington’s ESG and Business & Human Rights Practices, said in the profile, “Covington's ESG practice combines strategic counseling on sustainability, human rights, governance, and regulatory challenges with a longstanding commitment to pro bono service.”
Covington’s broader pro bono and ESG work includes initiatives focused on environmental protection, human rights, forced labor, media freedom, due process, and civil rights in the United States and around the world.
