LONDON–Mark Simpson has joined Covington’s London office as a partner in the firm's Competition Litigation practice.
Mark is a specialist in contentious competition law matters with particular expertise in competition litigation. He has more than 20 years’ experience in helping clients defend damages claims, including class actions. In that time, Mark has been involved in some of the most significant cartel damages and abuse of dominance claims before the English courts. He has also been involved in high-profile investigations brought by UK and European Union competition agencies and in numerous judicial review and appeal proceedings challenging regulatory decisions.
Mark has advised clients across a range of industries – including technology, financial services, communications, media and broadcasting, energy, transportation, FMCGs and primary industries. He also has advised governments and regulatory agencies. In his career, he has also spent time in-house as an antitrust adviser for a communications company and a music industry trade association.
Mark has a long history of being recommended by Chambers UK, Chambers Europe, Chambers Global and Legal500 UK in Competition Litigation categories.

Mark holds an LLM from Victoria University of Wellington and a Postgraduate Diploma in EC Competition Law from King's College London. He is admitted to practice in England and Wales.
