Covington Named TMT Team of the Year at African Legal Awards 2023

JOHANNESBURG—Covington has received the Technology, Media and Telecommunications Team of the Year award at the African Legal Awards 2023.

The award recognizes a cross-practice group effort advising MTN Group, Africa's largest mobile network operator, on a variety of issues including technology transactions, M&A, disputes, and compliance matters.

On one particular project, Covington advised MTN on the sale of its mobile network business in Afghanistan to M1 Group. The transaction is a standout example of the firm's collaborative model and ability to deliver on a sensitive and complex deal, working across offices and practice groups to address a range of corporate, risk and policy issues.
