WASHINGTON—The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) has awarded Covington a perfect score of 100 percent on its Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. This is the 14th consecutive year Covington has received a perfect score.
“Covington’s approach to diversity and inclusion continues to evolve as we strive to maintain an environment where everyone feels they belong and can thrive,” said Doug Gibson, Covington’s chair. “We are honored to be recognized by the Human Rights Campaign once again and will continue our efforts to be a leader in diversity and inclusion efforts in the legal profession and beyond.”
Covington’s 100-percent rating is a result of various firm policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBTQ+ community.
The Human Rights Campaign is the educational arm of America's largest civil rights organization working to achieve equality for LGBTQ+ people. For more information on the 2022 Corporate Equality Index, or to download a free copy of the report, click here.
