The National Law Journal Names John Buchanan Insurance Law Trailblazer

WASHINGTON—The National Law Journal has named John Buchanan to its inaugural list of Insurance Law Trailblazers, a recognition of legal professionals who have made significant marks on the practice, policy and advancements of insurance law.

Mr. Buchanan is senior counsel in Covington’s Washington, D.C. office and was the firm’s first Insurance Practice Group Coordinator. For four decades, he has litigated, arbitrated, and negotiated a broad variety of cutting-edge insurance claims, ranging from the earliest asbestos claims to claims for satellite malfunctions and major cyber breaches. He is an expert in emerging technology risks, including the IoT, AI, and autonomous vehicles.
