WASHINGTON—GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders (GLAD) honored Covington partner and the 82nd Attorney General of the United States Eric Holder with the 2017 Spirit of Justice Award for his instrumental role in advancing LGBT+ justice and his leadership on voting rights, criminal justice reform, and examining racial bias in policing.
“Mr. Holder’s leadership on a wide range of civil rights matters—from voting rights, to criminal justice reform and examining racial bias in policing, to marriage equality and transgender rights—have made our country a better, more just place,” said Janson Wu, GLAD’s Executive Director. “We’re extremely proud to honor him and his legacy.”
Through strategic litigation, public policy advocacy, and education, GLAD works across the nation to create a just society free of discrimination based on gender identity and expression, HIV status, and sexual orientation.
