Covington's Jeffrey Davidson Named "Rising Star"

April 8, 2015

SAN FRANCISCO, April 8, 2015  —  Law360 named Covington partner Jeffrey Davidson one of five “Rising Stars” in the area of competition law. The award honors lawyers under the age of 40 whose “legal accomplishments belie their age.”

In its profile, Law360 highlighted Mr. Davidson’s role in Samsung Electronics’ victory in its high-profile antitrust litigation with Motorola Mobility. That win resulted in the elimination of $3.5 billion in damages claims shortly before trial.

“Davidson, 34, was a fourth-year associate when he was tapped to join the team representing Samsung in a bevy of civil cases related to the LCD cartel,” wrote Law360. “He was tasked with delving into the Foreign Trade Antitrust Improvements Act and eventually took the lead in briefing issues related to the law in all of Samsung's suits, earning him a place on the rising stars list.”

Promoted to partner in 2014, Mr. Davidson has a complex litigation practice focused on high-stakes antitrust and insurance coverage matters.
