WASHINGTON, DC, January 16, 2015 — For the second consecutive year, Law360 named Covington’s antitrust and competition practice one of the top “Competition Practice Groups of the Year.”

Law360 recognized Covington for securing the dismissal of separate antitrust suits against clients Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., JP Morgan Chase & Co., and Expedia, Inc. The publication also highlighted the group’s work on high-profile transactions, including Facebook Inc.’s $22 billion acquisition of WhatsApp and AstraZeneca PLC’s $4.3 billion acquisition of sole control over its two diabetes joint ventures with Bristol-Myers Squibb Co.

In interviews with Law360, Thomas Barnett, Deborah Garza and Johan Ysewyn, co-chairs of Covington’s antitrust and competition group, discussed the group’s strategy, new partners, and collaboration across the Atlantic.
