LONDON, 7 July, 2014 — Euromoney Legal Media Group awarded Covington partners Lisa Peets and Carmen Martinez Lopez the ‘Best in Copyright’ and ‘Rising Star - Litigation’ awards at the annual European Women in Business Law Awards ceremony in London. The awards honour firms that set “the standard in terms of female-friendly work practices, and women leading the field in the legal sector across Europe” and cover various practice areas and jurisdictions.
This is the fourth year that Ms. Peets has won the award in the Copyright category. Ms. Peets, whose practice encompasses legislative advocacy, trade and intellectual property enforcement, heads Covington’s European technology and media group.
Ms. Martinez Lopez, an international arbitration partner, was honoured for the first time. Ms. Martinez Lopez has acted as counsel in numerous investment treaty and commercial arbitrations, with a particular focus on cases involving Latin America and Spain, and a wide range of industries that includes most prominently oil and gas, energy, infrastructure and concessions.
