NEW YORK, October 28, 2013 — Covington & Burling received two awards at the Americas M&A Atlas Awards ceremony held in New York on October 24. The firm was recognized for Cross Border Deal of the Year (Large Markets) and for South America Deal of the Year (Large Markets) in connection with Covington’s representation of Grupo Sura, the Latin American financial group, in the joint acquisition with Scotiabank of AFP Horizonte, the Peruvian pension fund manager. Gabriel Mesa, who led the legal team representing Grupo Sura, accepted the awards on behalf of Covington.
