Covington’s International Trade Practice Shortlisted for Chambers China Award

BEIJING, December 28, 2012 Chambers has named Covington & Burling as a finalist for the 2013 Chambers China Awards for Excellence in the International Trade category.

The awards recognize preeminence in key practice areas and significant achievements over the past 12 months, including outstanding work, impressive strategic growth and excellence in client service.

Covington’s international trade practice includes lawyers and policy experts who have held significant positions in government and the private sector. The group is chaired by Ambassador Stuart Eizenstat, who served as U.S. deputy secretary of the Treasury, Ambassador John Veroneau, the former deputy U.S. trade representative, and Peter Lichtenbaum, a former assistant secretary at the U.S. Commerce Department. Timothy Stratford, former assistant USTR for China Affairs leads the firm’s Beijing office.

Covington recently opened an office in Seoul and has plans to further expand the firm’s international footprint with an office in Shanghai in the near future.

The Chambers China Awards for Excellence are scheduled to be held on February 28 in Beijing.
