LONDON, 6 May, 2010 — Intercell AG today announced that it has signed an agreement with Cytos Biotechnology Ltd. to acquire Cytos’ platform technology for monoclonal antibody discovery. The technology is based on expression cloning of monoclonal antibodies from human B-cells and enables the identification of anti-infective antibodies to prevent and treat infectious diseases. Covington & Burling LLP advised Intercell on the transaction. Intercell is a Vienna Stock Exchange listed biotechnology company that develops novel vaccines for the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases with substantial unmet medical needs. Cytos is a public Swiss biotechnology company that specializes in the discovery, development and commercialization of a new class of biopharmaceutical products − the Immunodrugs™.
