NEW YORK, NY, August 24, 2009 — Procter & Gamble today announced the sale of its global pharmaceuticals business to Warner Chilcott Ltd. Covington & Burling LLP advised Procter & Gamble on the transaction.
Procter & Gamble is a leading global branded products company, with one of the strongest portfolios of quality, leadership brands in consumer health and wellness, as well as trusted consumer brands, including many household names. Warner Chilcott is an international pharmaceutical company specializing in women’s healthcare and dermatology.
The Covington team worked closely with the Procter & Gamble in-house legal team and was led by partners Scott Smith and Andrew Ment, both based in the firm’s New York office. The Procter & Gamble legal team was led by transaction specialists Joseph Stegbauer and Mary Pat McMahon.
