LONDON, December 17, 2007 - Covington & Burling LLP is pleased to announce its role in advising HIT Entertainment, one of the world’s leading children’s entertainment producers and rights owner, on a joint venture with Chellomedia, which currently operates 27 branded TV channels across Europe, to launch JimJam internationally. JimJam is a pre-school children’s TV channel currently available on the Sky Italia platform.

The internationally launched JimJam channel will include several of HIT’s portfolio of properties including Thomas & Friends™, Bob the Builder™, Fireman Sam™, Angelina Ballerina™, Barney & Friends™, and Pingu™. The channel will also acquire high quality pre-school programming from international distributors.

JimJam recently launched on UPC, the leading cable and satellite platforms, in Central Eastern Europe. Launches across Western Europe, Africa and the Middle East are set to begin in early 2008, with additional roll-out of the channel worldwide (excluding the US, the UK and China) expected to follow.

The Covington team comprised Ralph C. Voltmer, Jr., a partner in Covington's Washington office, and Rachel Turner, an associate in Covington's London office.
