Covington Partner Roderick McKelvie Elected President of the Giles S. Rich American Inn of Court

May 20, 2005

WASHINGTON, D.C., May 20, 2005 -  Covington & Burling partner Roderick R. McKelvie has been elected President of the Giles S. Rich American Inn of Court.  He succeeds Judge Richard Linn of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

The Giles Rich Inn is one of over 350 Inns which make up the American Inns of Court.  The mission of the Inns is to foster excellence in professionalism, ethics, civility, and legal skills for judges, lawyers, academicians, and students of law in order to perfect the quality, availability, and efficiency of justice in the United States.  The Inn is named honor of the late Giles Sutherland Rich, who was a recognized leader in intellectual property law and served with distinction as a Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.  The Rich Inn illuminates the principles of the American Inns of Court in the practice of intellectual property law.

Before joining Covington, Judge McKelvie was a United States District Court Judge for the District of Delaware.  He previously served as President of the Richard S. Rodney Inn and was a founding member and President of the Delaware Bankruptcy Inn.
