Covington Advises Ocular Networks in Its Acquisition by Tellabs

January 14, 2002 - WASHINGTON, D.C. and NEW YORK, NY - Covington & Burling represented Ocular Networks, Inc., a leading next-generation optical solutions company, in its sale to Tellabs Inc., which was consummated today. Tellabs paid an aggregate of $355 million in cash and stock options for privately-held Ocular Networks. Tellabs will retain Ocular’s Reston, Virginia office location for employees who are developing the Tellabs 6400 series of transport switching products.

Covington’s legal team was led by Paul V. Rogers in the Washington, D.C. office and Stephen A. Infante and Scott F. Smith, both resident in Covington’s New York office.
