Data centres are straining the insurance market

Alexis Dyschkant was quoted in an Economist article examining the challenges insurers face as the scale, value, and concentration of data centers increase. Alexis discussed the potentially substantial business-interruption losses associated with a data center outage, given the volume of economic activity that can depend on a single facility.

Alexis also noted that the specific terms of coverage can be particularly important because some policies may not begin responding until a disruption has continued for a specified period.
