House Tipped Worker Bill Unlikely to Affect OBBBA Deduction

The Tipped Employee Protection Act (H.R. 2312), which would amend the Fair Labor Standards Act definition of a tipped employee, would likely not have implications for the tipped wage deduction created by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

According to Michael, H.R. 2312 is “focused more on a labor question,” adding that “the tip deduction doesn’t really rely on the FLSA definition of a tipped worker.”
