Law360 profiled former Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals administrative judge Elizabeth Witwer, who recently joined Covington.
Elizabeth said she left the government because she was ready for a new experience, particularly in advising contractors, to "round out" her practice. She joined Covington because of the "depth of legal experience" at the firm and its "proactive approach to regulatory change." She also said the experience of the firm's attorneys across the "entire spectrum of government contracts and the transactional work that they do," drew her to Covington.
"I've spent my entire career in government service at DOJ and GAO and then at the board, so I was looking for a place that would align with my sense of mission, obligation and service," Elizabeth said. "Covington really stood out to me as a place with a lot of integrity and collaboration."
Elizabeth added that she hopes to use her experience to bring a practical understanding to how cases are evaluated while helping clients anticipate challenges and shape litigation strategy.
