Law360 covered Adam Szubin’s arrival at Covington, with Adam telling Law360 that he was motivated to join the firm because of its deep regulatory focus.
"My work on the sanctions and illicit finance, anti-money laundering side is just a huge piece of what Covington does and is known for," Adam said. Adam's practice involves a combination of advisory work and counseling clients on the permissibility of mergers and transactions and enforcement matters, including administrative subpoenas from the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control or the U.S. Department of Justice concerning potential sanctions violations.
Some of the clients Adam has represented include banks and investment firms, as well as broader groups in the automotive and tech space. At Covington, Adam said he's looking forward to working with a broader array of clients and with his new colleagues.
"I've always known Covington to have a reputation for truly excellent attorneys, and that's part of it, but it also enjoys a reputation of just very wonderful people, kind, humane, thoughtful people. And so, that's something I'm looking forward to as well," Adam said.
