NSIA Scrutiny of Allies Continues as Australian Buyer Faces First Conditional Clearance

Ross Evans’ commentary was included in a Global Competition Review article about the UK’s conditional clearance of the sale of a domestic cybersecurity business to an Australian buyer subject to commitments ensuring continuity of supply for government contracts, the first to be granted to an Australian buyer under the NSIA.

Ross said the government likely would have imposed similar conditions even if the buyer were UK-based. “It’s more about ensuring the merged business will operate in the same way and meet the same support commitments as the existing supplier,” he added.
