Bondi Eases Foreign Agent Enforcement as Countries Tap Lobbyists

Rob Kelner’s commentary was included in a Bloomberg Government article reporting on changes to the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) enforcement of the Foreign Agents Registration Act initiated by Attorney General Pam Bondi.

Rob said the move “on its face, it’s very significant.” The memo, he said, appears to direct DOJ to return to the way FARA was enforced before the Robert Mueller special counsel investigation that roped in Paul Manafort, a Trump campaign chairman in 2016.
