James told Law360 that social mobility is an important, but often less visible, strand of diversity initiatives. “At Covington, we try hard to attract and support high-caliber candidates for whom the law might not have been an obvious career choice, often because those connections and conversations which could encourage them into the profession were outside their social network,” he said.
