Judge Rules Against Insurer in $127M Suit Over Aircraft 'Theft'

Covington’s Insurance Recovery practice was highlighted in a Law.com article detailing the team’s interim victory on behalf of BBAM in a high profile insurance dispute.

BBAM filed a coverage lawsuit against its insurers for failure to cover its loss of three aircraft following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The San Francisco Superior Court rejected the insurers’ summary adjudication argument that BBAM had not suffered a physical loss under the terms of the insurance policy.

The team representing BBAM consists of Marty Myers, Darren Teshima, Breanna Jones, Taylor Roberts-Sampson, and Esaú Ruiz. Trial is scheduled for February 2025.
