A Window into Three Companies’ Scope 3 Emissions Work

Agenda covered Covington's "Women Leaders in Climate Event," held at the firm's New York office as part of Climate Week, which included over 100 sustainability professionals, government officials, energy sector representatives and academics. Carol Browner’s commentary was included in the piece, outlining the steps major companies such as Citi, Microsoft, and Walmart are taking to reduce their Scope 3 emissions, whose Chief Sustainability Officers sat on an all-female panel discussing the new SEC and European climate rules on the horizon.

With pending climate disclosure rules from the SEC, EU and now California, Carol commented on how companies are concerned about the compliance burden. “The last thing anybody wants — any of you in the business sector want — are 50 different reporting regimes, not to mention international regimes,” she said.
