Financing Available For Some, But Not All Biopharma Companies In 2023

Brian Rosenzweig's commentary appeared in a Scrip Intelligence article about the long recovery ahead for the biopharmaceutical industry following valuation declines that began in 2021. However, signs of improving health in the sector in late 2022 and unchanged business fundamentals offer hope that many companies will be able to access funding to advance drug development programs and commercialize approved medicines in 2023.

"Both private and public biopharma companies are looking at their cash runway before key upcoming milestones," Brian said, "to be in a position of strength and not weakness when they come up on a data readout or another inflection point that might be an impetus to raise capital."
