The AmLaw Litigation Daily named Covington as a "Litigator of the Week Runner-Up" for a win at the Ninth Circuit affirming the dismissal of a libel suit filed against the Center of Investigative Reporting and its news outlet Reveal. According to the article, "The Ninth Circuit panel found that a reasonable factfinder couldn’t find any of the allegedly defamatory statements made by CIR journalists about Planet Aid, an international charity whose programs were funded in part by the U.S. government, were made with actual malice."

The Covington team was led by partner Alexa Hansen, and included associates Miriam Arghavani, Celin Carlo-Gonzalez, and Alison Wall.
