Fintech Bursts Into The Spotlight In 2021's 1st Half

Mike Nonaka spoke with Law360 about the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency’s recently issued conditional approvals to cryptocurrency companies to receive national trust banking licenses. Mike says that stance is fragile, as the OCC's new acting chief has said the agency will be taking another look at those decisions, and it's not clear how the review will pan out. “What we're interested to see is, in light of [the review] of these different decisions and determinations, what the agency is deciding to do going forward. I'm not exactly sure what will happen.”
