Section 301 seen as wrong way to handle trade issue

John Veroneau is quoted in a China Daily article regarding the recently launched investigation into China's policy and practice of intellectual property under Section 301 of the U.S. Trade Act of 1974. Commenting on the potential negative impact of the action, Veroneau says that it will depend on how the U.S. threatens unilateral actions, in a full-blown way or in a subtle and quiet but clear way. "We will see if it is done subtly, and move in a productive way. If it's not done so subtly, things could deteriorate."
