The lobbying law at the center of Manafort's trouble with Ukraine

Rob Kelner is quoted by The Hill in an article regarding Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) compliance and enforcement following reports that have surfaced about Paul Manafort and Rick Gates’ work in Ukraine. According to Kelner, “I would be very surprised if you can find a case that’s a plain old vanilla FARA violation. There is usually another plus factor, like terrorism, money laundering or corruption.” He continues, “There’s always something else going on if they take it to court.”
