Obama’s signature fuel efficiency standards could stall

Gary Guzy is quoted in a Washington Post article regarding an awaited report about the economic and technological feasibility of meeting or exceeding fuel-efficiency targets set by the Obama Administration. According to Guzy, “There’s been a demonstrated record of success and innovation that has shown that these standards can be achieved in a cost-effective fashion, and that’s regardless of the variability of consumer gasoline prices.” He continues, “There’s a range of technologies — existing technology, technology in the works and advanced technologies proving themselves out — by which these standards are very achievable at the end of the day regardless of who’s writing the rules and driving our national politics.”
