Countries that require national data protection authority approval may find even more issues arise when trying to formulate new ways to navigate data transfer laws. Tielemans notes that the process for these countries takes “three to six months in a regular period, and this is not a regular period.” An “avalanche of authorization requests” is likely, she says.
