"The agreement comes on the heels of the NFL's renewal of its Sunday Ticket game package with DirecTV last week. Covington counseled its longtime client the NFL on that deal, which is a key pillar in DirecTV’s proposed $48.5 billion sale to telecommunications giant AT&T. A source briefed on the matter says that Covington corporate partners Douglas Gibson and Peter Zern—both of whom are veterans of many a sports media transaction—are advising the NBA on its new TV deal along with privacy and data security chair Kurt Wimmer, litigation partners Gregg Levy and Benjamin Block and associate Adina Lord."
