#CovBlackHistory Spotlight Series: Michael Baxter

We sat down with Michael Baxter and former associate Mike Fletcher to talk about the D.C. Road Show, a collective effort by several major Washington law firms to recruit African American law students to the DC market. Started in about 1975, the D.C. Road Show involved DC law firms going "on the road" to encourage African American law students to come to Washington to try big-firm practice. African American students, at that time, favored the New York market over Washington, which was perceived as a better choice for a career with the federal government. Mr. Baxter and Mr. Fletcher share their personal experiences with the D.C. Road Show in this video.
