Covington Co-Hosts D.C. Road Show Reception

Thirty-six law firms came together recently to sponsor the annual D.C. Road Show Reception. Held on Tuesday, June 26, the annual reception celebrates law firm practice in the nation’s capital from an African-American perspective. The D.C. Road Show started in 1975 as a collective effort by the major area law firms to attract African-American law students to big-firm practice in Washington. Each summer, over 30 major law firms sponsor the reception, which includes a keynote address by a guest speaker. 

This year’s reception was kicked off by a welcome from Michael St. Patrick Baxter, the chair of the D.C. Road Show Committee and a partner in our Washington office, followed by dinner. This year’s guest speaker was Darren Skinner, a partner and a member of the Management Committee at Arnold & Porter.
