Covington’s African-American/Black Affinity Group planned several events to celebrate Black History Month in February. On February 6, the Affinity Group hosted a Black History Month reception in the Washington office. The event was an opportunity for attendees to socialize while participating in black history trivia.
On February 24, the Affinity Group in Covington's Washington office partnered with the black affinity group at Microsoft Corporation for a private screening of the movie Black Panther. The event allowed lawyers and paralegals from the firm to connect with other black professionals in the D.C. area in an effort to build and strengthen the social and professional networks for all attendees.
The African-American/Black Affinity Group helps firm lawyers who are members of the African diaspora connect with one another for mentoring, support, and professional development. The group hosts a mix of internal social, professional, and community service events, while also finding ways to support and connect with the broader community outside the walls of the firm.
