On September 14, Covington's "Women in Tech" initiative hosted a dinner discussion with senior in-house lawyers in Silicon Valley focused on how to increase women's participation on and with boards of directors. Cathy Lego, founder of Lego Ventures, LLC and board member at IPG Photonics and Lam Research, and Mallun Yen, CEO and a board director of ChIPs and board member of RPX Corporation and KQED, were the featured speakers.
Ms. Lego and Ms. Yen discussed how in-house counsel can best position themselves for board membership and how to effectively communicate with corporate boards, including how to translate legal skills and subject-matter expertise into board success.
Covington's "Women in Tech" series, which launched in 2016, provides an opportunity for Covington lawyers and friends of the firm to network and learn from other leading women in the tech industry.
