From the Traffic Signal to the Super Soaker: Celebrating Black Invention Webinar

  • Tuesday, February 28, 2023 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Please join us for a webinar on "From the Traffic Signal to the Super Soaker: Celebrating Black Invention."

Black inventors brought us the three-light traffic signal, the Super Soaker, and many more inventions that save lives and spark joy. Black inventors have made a huge impact on the American invention economy and the way we live our lives, but they are severely underrepresented among all inventors. Black individuals make up almost 13% of the U.S. population, but they account for less than 2% of inventors. In honor of Black History Month, Invent Together is excited to host a virtual briefing on the state of Black invention in the United States and how stakeholders are working together to harness the talent and ingenuity of all Americans. Please join us for a fireside chat featuring U.S. Patent & Trademark Office Deputy Director Derrick Brent and a panel of Black inventors, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders.
