Covington Hosts Pride Month Screening of Brother Outsider

June 17, 2019

In celebration of LGBTQ Pride Month, Covington's Washington office hosted a screening of the documentary, Brother Outsider: The Life of Bayard Rustin.

The film tells the story of the life of Bayard Rustin, an African American and openly LGBT activist best remembered as the organizer of the 1963 March on Washington. In 2013, 50 years after the March on Washington, Mr. Rustin was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Obama.

Bennett Singer, one of the film’s producers, was our guest for this special event. Following the screening of the documentary, Mr. Singer participated in a Q&A session moderated by our Director of Diversity and Inclusion, Floyd Mills.
