October 27, 2017

Covington lawyers George Pappas, Brianne Bharkhda, Jihong Lou, Tina Thomas, and Andrew Lai attended the APABA-DC Annual Awards and Installation Gala, which was held at the National Museum for Women in the Arts on Friday, September 29.  Covington served as a proud sponsor of the event.

The Gala featured the installation of the new APABA-DC officers, the presentation of several awards for achievement in the legal community, and a fireside chat with EEOC Commissioner Jenny R. Yang. Ms. Yang discussed her professional path and experiences as well as lessons about diversity she has learned during her time at the EEOC.

APABA-DC is the oldest and largest association of Asian Pacific American lawyers in the Washington area. Its mission is to support the professional growth and advancement of Asian Pacific American members of the legal community, cultivate an understanding of the issues facing the Asian Pacific American legal community and the Asian Pacific American community-at-large, and promote the involvement of its members in the greater community.
