NEW YORK, April 2, 2015 — The Minority Corporate Counsel Association named Covington partner Nicole Duclos a recipient of its 2015 “Rising Star” award. Ms. Duclos was one of 15 lawyers selected “whose accomplishments and dedication to the legal field and to their respective communities place them among those attorneys to watch.”
In a profile, MCCA’s Diversity & the Bar magazine highlighted Ms. Duclos’ path from undergraduate school in her native Chile to Harvard Law School and, ultimately, to an international law firm. Fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, she leads a team of multicultural and multilingual arbitration lawyers at Covington.
Ms. Duclos focuses her practice on international commercial and investment arbitration, with emphasis in Latin America. She has acted as counsel and advisor in international commercial arbitrations under the ICC, ICDR and AAA rules, as well as in investment treaty disputes under the ICSID and UNCITRAL rules. Her experience spans energy, construction, infrastructure, finance and mining, among other industries.
MCCA was founded in 1997 to advance the hiring, retention, and promotion of diverse attorneys in law firms. The MCCA “Rising Stars” are featured in the 2015 March/April issue of Diversity & the Bar magazine.
