Covington Partners Receive Burton Award for Outstanding Legal Achievement

April 18, 2013

WASHINGTON, DC, April 18, 2013 — Covington & Burling partners David Kornblau and Jonathan Sperling have been named recipients of the “2013 Burton Awards for Legal Achievement.” Their article, “Market Manipulation and Algorithmic Trading: The Next Wave of Regulatory Enforcement?” won in the legal writing for law firms category. The article, originally published in Bloomberg BNA Securities Regulation & Law Report on February 20, 2012, is available here

This marks the third consecutive year in which Covington lawyers have won a Burton Award. The Burton Awards are presented annually to lawyers who have written “outstanding articles which are clear, concise, and comprehensive.” Burton judges select 30 articles nominated by the nation’s 1,000 largest law firms.

Mr. Kornblau and Mr. Sperling are litigation partners in Covington’s New York office, and Mr. Kornblau is also co-chair of Covington’s securities enforcement practice group.

The awards ceremony will be held on June 3, 2013 at the Library of Congress.
